Video Games of the Future

PSXToday video games are almost perfect in terms of their processing capabilities. As broadband Internet networks that enable high-speed data transfer become more and more widespread, online gaming will become a standard feature of video game consoles. It will become possible to surf the Internet and use e-mail on them. The boundary between games consoles and other electronics products is already becoming blurred, with some game consoles already capable of playing DVDs and CDs and some home electronic devices allowing users to play games on them.

Droid X is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Verizon Wireless is now selling the Droid X.

The Droid X is Motorola's newest Android phone. Pros of the new Droid X phone is a larger 4.3 inch screen size, 1Ghz processor, 8MP HD video camera, and HDMI output. Cons of the new Droid X are its encrypted bootloader intended to prevent installation of custom ROMs and also that it does not have a physical keyboard. Since I don't use the keyboard on my current Droid this is not an issue for me personally. But I do enjoy having the ability to install custom ROMs and rooting my original Droid so I can customize it and overclock the processor. So that is the only real trade off I can see with this upgrade. The benefits of a larger screen, better processor and better camera all outway the negatives of the new Droid X.
I give Motorola Droid X "two thumbs up."

Hulu.com & what is old is new again!

Something I have found very interesting about the internet is what can be found on the internet. At Hulu.com, one can find an extensive (and growing library) of television shows dating back to the early days of television up through shows that were aired for the first time last week. Interested in the Lone Ranger? Hulu has 13 episodes. Did you miss "Attack of The Show?" Hulu didn't. I was recently able to watch all four seasons of "Airwolf", a show that I have not seen since the late 1980's and was one of my favorite shows to watch as a kid.

Oasis Smart Kitchen Countertop

The Oasis Smart Kitchen Countertop is an interactive kitchen counter top that makes use of a pico-projector and a depth perceiving camera. With the pico-projector developed by Microvision the Oasis will be able to display a multitude of images ranging from recipes to videos on cooking techniques. The depth sensing camera, developed by PrimeSense, will give the counter top the ability to recognize the item placed on it. This will allow the system to display the appropriate recipes based on the item or items placed on it.
